I have had peripheral neuropathy in my feet for some 25 years. My doctors told me there wasn’t anything they could do for me. I tried some different kind of medication but those really didn’t help and the side effects weren’t worth it. So in May my son made an appointment with Stacey for me. The difference it has made in my feet is amazing. I don’t have near the burning and tingling and I can now wear my sandals without socks which I’ve never been able to do. Stacey has also worked on the neck pain I have had for some time and it is so much better. I have also had two back surgeries and have gone off the medication I was on for that. I also have had rotator cuff repair on both shoulders and she has helped me with that. I would highly recommend acupuncture.
Since starting acupuncture treatments here there has been a lot of improvement with my chronic pain and fatigue issues. Stacey has been so good about working with and around my many quirks and is actually finding the problems and helping them begin to heal. This is really fantastic!!! (The naps are great too, LOL!...and I’m sleeping better at night.) We had been trying to get pregnant for a few months. My doctor prescribed metformin, a relatively innocuous drug that was intended to help regularize my cycles. But after three months, nothing had changed and I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. The side effects, complications, cost, and ethical issues involved in traditional fertility treatments made western medical approaches unappealing to me. The community atmosphere of a place like the People’s Clinic would also make the regular treatments needed financially plausible. Much to my surprise, my OBGYN also supported my choice to try acupuncture before looking at other traditional medical interventions. I was amazed to find that the needles did not hurt, but instead gave me a warm, deeply relaxed sensation. The atmosphere of the rooms also contributed to a deeply relaxed state. The communal rooms actually helped me relax more deeply, something I had not expected. I did acupuncture at the People’s Clinic about twice a week from early November 2010 through February 2011, and then less often throughout the duration of my pregnancy. When Donna first told me to give her three months, I assumed I would be having regular cycles after three months. I was surprised to find that my cycles started to regularize right away and I was actually pregnant almost exactly three months after I started acupuncture treatments. I gave birth to an amazing baby boy in Fall 2011. Throughout my pregnancy, I was amazed by how much the acupuncturists could tell by just feeling my pulse. Donna noticed respiratory issues at one visit the day after I’d needed to use my inhaler for asthma. She also correctly predicted that it would be a boy (although she will tell you that this is more of a party trick). I would absolutely recommend The People’s Clinic fertility services!
